Volunteer Position: Volunteer Coordinator

Program’s mission: To ensure that older residents of Cumberland can remain independent and living in their own homes as long as possible.
Specific tasks volunteer(s) will perform: Oversee volunteer list; verify that volunteers have completed all necessary forms, passed background checks, and submitted references. Work with/supervise data processor volunteer, who will record and organize volunteer data. Pass along list of vetted volunteers to program directors (for example, rides manager, friendly visitor manager), who will assign volunteers to positions. Serve as contact person for volunteers and answer questions; make sure volunteers submit their hours (online). Refer problems regarding volunteers to AIP coordinator.
Qualities, experience, and skills needed by volunteers: People person and team player, ability to explain requirements clearly, answer questions, and refer problems to AIP coordinator. Must be well-organized with good computer skills.
Location where volunteer(s) will work: This job can be done at town hall or from home or anywhere connected to the Internet.
When will volunteer(s) work? Volunteer can set own schedule.
Length of commitment expected of volunteer: 1 year period.
